How I wish

we could be careless again

or just happy for one night

forget everything

he wouldn’t be dying

you wouldn’t be eaten away by your worry

I wouldn’t be depressed

no surgeries, no tumors

we would laugh, dance, drink

have fun with others

you would joke as you used to

and we would celebrate their engagement

with our hearts full

look forward to the future

not dread it
